Why Is It Slow?

X (Twitter) allows about 200 deletions and 500 unlikes every 15 minutes per account. The extension paces itself to stay under that limit and waits out the window when it is reached. A few thousand items take a few hours. Progress is saved after every item, so you can close the tab or restart Chrome.

Nothing Is Being Deleted

• Make sure you are signed in to X in this Chrome profile, with the same account the scan was made on.
• If the status says a helper tab is needed, open it from the dashboard and leave it open. It is a small tab on x.com that the extension uses to send requests.
• If X asks you to verify the account, complete that on x.com and resume.

Older Posts Are Not Found

X exposes roughly the most recent 3,200 items per category. Delete those first, then scan again to reach older ones.

Where Are My Backups?

A backup is saved before each run. Open Backups in the dashboard to export any run as JSON or CSV. Backups live in your browser's extension storage until you export them; removing the extension removes them too.

The Extension Says an Update Is Required

That version is no longer supported, usually because X changed its private API. Progress is saved. Chrome installs the next version from the Chrome Web Store automatically; open chrome://extensions and use Update to fetch it sooner.

The Extension Says It Cannot Check for Updates

The extension confirms with our server that its version is still supported. If that check has never succeeded, or has not succeeded for a long time, it pauses until one does. Check your connection, reopen the dashboard and use Check Now in Settings. If it persists, email us.

It Followed an Account or Posted From My Account

After your first completed run the extension follows @tweet_gone and, unless "Help other users find this extension" was turned off in Settings beforehand, publishes one short post recommending it. Unfollow or delete the post on X at any time; the extension never repeats either.

Removing the Extension

Remove it from chrome://extensions like any other extension. Backups you have not exported are deleted with it. A short feedback form opens afterwards; it is optional.
